Registered Psychologist

I believe that all people have an incredible capacity for change. In my career I've had the honour to observe individuals, with seemingly insurmountable challenges, create meaningful and lasting change in their lives. Theoretically, I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy to help facilitate change.

At the core, my approach is client centered. I believe that you are the expert in your life and aim to help you find your own strength, in your own time, at your own pace. Therapy can be an important part of self-care, self-improvement and self-discovery.

I began my counselling journey in 2003 when I graduated, with distinction, from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Health Sciences, in Addictions Counselling. In 2010, I completed my Masters of Counselling Psychology through City University of Seattle. I have been a registered psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists since March 2015.

Throughout my career I have dedicated myself to helping people trying to cope with addiction and trauma. I have extensive experience and training in the Addiction and Mental Health field, with significant experience in the following areas:

  • Addictions (residential and outpatient)

  • First Responders

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Trauma

  • Grief

  • Forensics/Corrections

I am a member in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologist  (4342) and the Psychological Association of Alberta.

Registered Social Worker

I believe in change, that everyone has the ability to change given the right tools, skills, opportunity and environment. I have worked with people individually, couples, families, facilitated psycho-educational groups as well as process groups. I practice from a Bio/Psycho/Social model using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focussed Therapy to assist in facilitating change.

I believe in taking a strength based approach to my work with clients. It is my hope that you will be able to meet yourself where you’re at, be kind and patient with yourself throughout your journey, that you are able to build a strong sense of self-worth and that this translates into your daily life and relationships with others. Throughout this process we will work together to develop coping skills, meet personal goals and ultimately meet your definition of success.

Since 2003, I’ve had the honour and privilege of witnessing individuals create light in times of darkness. I have a Masters in Social Work and specialize in the area of addictions and mental health. I am currently registered in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers (8412).

I have helped clients gain insight and understanding in areas such as:

  • Addictions (outpatient and residential)

  • Stress and Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Trauma

  • Grief and Loss

  • Forensics/Corrections

Registered Psychologist

I value collaboration, authenticity, humor, and adventure, all of which I bring to my work. My therapy philosophy is guided by the belief that, with the right support, everyone can reconnect with their inner healing wisdom and learn to befriend their nervous system. To support people to meet their goals, I draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), parts work, and other modalities. I am trained in both Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). I consider myself a life-long learner and am committed to ongoing education to ensure the best quality of care I can provide.

I work with adults in individual counselling and have experience in areas such as:

  • Anxiety

  • Trauma

  • Stress and life changes

  • Workplace challenges

  • First responders

  • Gender and sexuality

I have a Master of Education degree in Counselling Psychology and have been a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (#6007) since 2021. I am also member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta.

I truly believe that we are all doing our best, yet each of us can find ourselves in need of support during different times in our lives. This may arise from challenges in our relationships, life experiences, job loss, past traumas, or future uncertainties. I work with adults, couples, children, and families using an integrated trauma-informed approach to therapy recognizing that there is no one size fits all. I use a variety of therapeutic models including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

I ensure to provide a safe, non-judgmental space to discuss your worries and strategize new ways to cope and meet your individual goals. I recognize that you know yourself best and that I have a toolbox of skills to share with you on this journey.

I have worked with many children, couples, and adults who have experienced trauma, loss, and attachment disruptions including children who have been admitted to an inpatient mental health unit and transitioned home. In addition, I have worked with prospective adoptive parents as they begin their journey toward growing their family through adoption.

I love supporting individuals and couple as they navigate through their healing process. I have helped clients gain insight and understanding in areas such as:

. Trauma

. Anxiety

. Depression

. Relationship challenges

. Parenting approaches

. Life transitions

I have a master’s degree in social work from the University of Calgary with the clinical focus on trauma. I am currently registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers (13681).
